Pimento Dram is a rum-based spicy pimiento berry-flavored liqueur of the Caribbean. The pimento or pimiento is the berry from which the spice allspice is derived. English explorers originally used the term allspice because the berry seemed to combine the flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove all at once. How this might relate to the flavorless, red, wadded-up thing stuffed in some cocktail olives, would be hard to explain. The only currently produced brand appears to be Wray & Nephew Pimento Liqueur "Berry Hill" made and sold only in Jamaica. Unfortunately, importation and marketing of this product ceased in the United States in the 1980s. I am lucky enough to have a Jamaican friend who travels home frequently and keeps my cabinet in supply.

Rice: Gohyakumangoku & Gin-Ohmi
Yeast: Brewer's Original
Nihonshu-do: +1
Alcohol: 14.9%
Acidity: 1.5

Brewery Name: Kizakura Sake Brewery Co. Ltd.
Brewery Location: Kyoto Prefecture
Tasting Notes: This is a fairly thick and chewy "nigorizake" (cloudy sake), but it is still quite dry. The nose is bright and fresh and shows a lovely ricey and fruity combination. In the mouth, this sake has solid weight and gives the same flavors of fresh fruit and creamy fresh rice that your nose told you about. The finish has a pleasant astringency and is nicely mellow. Generally served cold, I actually prefer it warm.

A wonderful sake at a great price

7fevertree.jpgColor - Crystal clear
Aroma - clean and fresh with citrus and aromatic hint
Flavor - Very soft. Subtle and supportive citrus and fruit notes balanced by bitterness of natural quinine. The finish is clean with none of the usual cloying mouth feel of other tonics
Texture
- high carbonation delivers the aromas and taste in a classic refreshing style

This tonic is a paradigm shift. Not just great in a g&t, this tonic is a great drink in it's own right.

Love at first sip - can not recommend this mixer enough.
